Lizard 🦎

Inktober prompt – Dragon.

I was initially tempted to paint a Komodo Dragon which is the largest of the living dragon lizards. This little guy still has his dragon aspirations though.

This was painted with Chinese Ink on Canson 1557 180gsm bright white heavy paper.

The ink was quite shiny when painted thick over a larger area like this. White ink on black paper might’ve been a better choice.

  1. Thank you Mike, I think the main key this year has been a lot of preparation of ideas as soon as I got the list, I’ve still got 4-5 empty slots or those with crappy ideas but hopefully they’ll come to me.

The 2nd thing is that I decided to do a fixed format of A5, 3 hour limit, all ink and with minimal pencil under-drawing – just basic shapes for proportions. I think resisting the temptation to add paint has helped with the time limitation.

That said, I’m not even half way through so this will probably jinx it.
