Inktober Day 22 JUICY πŸ™‰πŸ™Š

Looks like a juicy bit of gossip…

Maybe she said β€œSteve was trying to draw a cartoony look, he missed that target really…”

    • Thanks for your feedback Marissa, I don’t have a favourite thing to draw though I do find it more rewarding to make gains in drawing the challenging subjects – for me that’s primarily automotive, cartoons, figure studies and portraits. Those I find particularly challenging.

One thing is for sure, I do have a lot of variation in subject matter and also in the medium I use for creating the pictures. In fact I have been questioned before as to whether it was just me doing them or a compilation (or copies) of more than one person.

I think that’s probably due to the fact that as far as I’m concerned I’m still relatively new to art and basically want to try and “learn everything”.

Obviously that’s impossible but until you try all the flavours how do you know what you like? Perhaps as I develop then a certain style or theme will come to light but I’m not rushing into that.

I see less appeal in creating different versions of the same thing than diversifying into trying out as much as I can.

Having said that, if there are any multimillionaire collectors reading this who want me to do fifty versions of the same thing – I am prepared to sacrifice my artistic integrity and sell out πŸ˜‰

  1. I feel you on the automotives. My cars are the worst. I’ve tried many times, but haven’t gotten the hang of it yet.

I agree, trying new subjects is a good thing for an artist to do. I don’t stretch myself that way as much as I should.

Lol well you might be surprised how much you can learn/gain from drawing 50 versions of the same thing!!
